I drove one, every day for the last 3.5 years.  Not a good car.

What was wrong with it?

Current Rides: 2011 VW Golf TDi, 2008 Pontiac Vibe

Laconian

1996 Corolla. Lots of spunk for a car that gets 35mpg on a regular basis. The interior is pretty nice for what was a cheap car, too.

Starts with a B and ends with Buick.

It's a GM W-body, what's there to like about it?

Buicks are fine.  They give you exactly what they advertise, large-ish, comfortable transportation.

As someone who's put 800 miles on one, I have to say it swallows great distances with ease.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

Is it the most sophisticated chassis? Seeing the fender braces under the hood, I'd have to say no. Is it an incredibly comfortable, smooth car in a straight line with ample power? Yes.

They advertise much more space than they offer.

When I'm in the showroom, I sit in the driver's seat, adjust it so I'm comfortable, then sit in the rear seat and see what kind of room I'd be giving my passengers.  I'm not sure what figures they advertise, but the Buicks I sat in had decent space.  I didn't buy one, but that wasn't the reason.

Decent by some standards, sure. Decent for a car that's nearly 200 inches long, not at all.

Americans like cars that look big, even if they're lacking.

No, but I repair Buicks, GMCs, and Pontiacs.  I've driven a Lacrosse almost every day during that time.
