You'll probably like the MX-5 more than the RX-8.  The RX-8 is very good, mind you, and very impressive when viewed as a sedan, but for pure thrills (and better gas mileage), the MX-5 is better.
Really? I thought the RX-8 was better than the Miata. Seems like the only thing it has on the Miata are the extra seats

I don't know.  I drove them back to back and the MX-5 just felt better.  It's hard to get into detail, as it was so long ago, but the MX-5 just put a bigger smile on my face (and that was with the top up, so no bias there).

I don't know if I'd go with that car... after 17k miles only it already seems to be in kind of bad shape.

I wouldn't say it's in bad shape at all.  Almost any car on a used lot is going to need some detailing work.  A button not working isn't a big deal.  That's an easy fix.

I kind of have the feeling I'll be going with a Miata too.  It's what I dream about now, not an RX-8.  It just makes more sense.  Better gas mileage, more fun, newer and cheaper.

MrH

Test drove an RX-8.  It's been decided.  NC Miata it is.  It'll definitely be purchased within the month.  Just waiting on the protege5 to come back from the body shop, and that gets stripped and sold immediately.

Oddly enough, I've never driven an S2000.  It's more fun than a 370Z though, if that helps you any.

MrH

Two-Ton is right.

Truck is sold and I got a pretty good amount of money for it.  The Icy Blue one I looked at was in shitty condition for only having 11,000 miles in 2 years.  Some pretty serious scratches on it (that the dealer wanted to just fix with touch up paint )  Two of the wheels were curb rashed, and they were only willing to come down a total of $300 off their listed price.

Had it been pristine, I would have paid that.  But it was just rubbing me the wrong way how bad the condition was.  And they were just a strange dealership to deal with.  He hated that I actually knew what I was looking at, and expected the thing for a long time.  I think when I called the chrome fuel door gaudy he was just angry the rest of the time.

The search continues.  I'm trying to see how low I could get a 2010 power retractable hardtop for...only has 5,000 miles on it.

The prht is much better for winter driving.  Don't have to worry about drains clogging as you do with the soft top.  More security too (don't have to worry about people slitting your roof to get into your car).

I think you guys need to ditch the grocery getters (or actually get a car in the first place), before criticizing me for wanting 70 lbs of civility in a sports car I plan on driving daily.  :hammerhead:

I'm assuming this is aimed at me, and I never said anything about the extra 70 or whatever extra little amount that doesn't really matter in a car.

All I said is that the proportions look weird. I'm not even criticizing you. Get it if you want. :hammerhead:
