QuoteIt's funny what the Euros consider a huge car.  I drive a car everyday that would be considered gigantic.  To me, it handles well and manuevers just fine.  Huge sedans really died out in the 90s- the kind that actually did handle like a boat.
Your Buick is a boat, man.  And they still have cars that handle like boats.  Lincoln Town Cars, Lexus LSs, Toyota Camrys.  They're still around.
   Go drive a truck, full size van, then an 18-wheeler and report back.

That's completely different.

Yes, but it puts things into perspective.

Wimmer, I had a good amount of experience with an S500 Coupe about 3 years ago, and I came away with a very different impression.

I liked the way it drove a LOT more than the W220. And I LOVED the interior. Steering was a bit light and vague, but it felt less like a boat than the W220.

Light steering...
I once got out of it and hopped into an A6. The difference was almost painful.

Well, I disagree with you on the boat feeling.  The W140 is a boat, simply.  The W220, with the Airmatic set on 1 or 2 lights is not.  With both lights on, it can get scary how well the car handles and how tight it is.  With the Airmatic on its standard setting, the W220 is pretty close to the W140, but with a little bit of a choppier ride.  The 1 light setting is probably the best all around.

Considering that I've really, really pushed a W140 and a W220 several times, I'd say that without a doubt the W220 is better to drive, but the W140 is better to own.  The car simply hasmore character than the W220.
