Nick will pull off shifts in 100 ms.

Jake's engine will start off slow due to all the oil burnage but will go anyways.

You will stall.

The hunk a hunk of burning love oil doesn't affect my engine's performance really.

As funny as I initially thought this, it warms my heart to see an auto enthusiast finally get their first car. And you know what... features are overrated. Honestly, as long as the motor is strong and the car is solid it should be fine.

You should depress the clutch pedal before you start anyway. Doesn't matter what gear it's in, though putting it in neutral isn't a bad practice. The Accord won't start without the clutch being depressed.

Also, if I get the E21 running, I'm down for the Top Gear Challenge.

Neons also will not start without the clutch being depressed. I am sure he'll quickly get used to the routine. Leaving it in neutral is not a bad idea, unless you're on a steep hill or don't trust your parking brake.

Congrats 2o6, looks like you got a great deal, and those Neons are surprisingly good cars. I miss mine. You are coming up on the t-belt replacement though (105k I think).

Yeah, someone on the Neon forum told me about this. I'm going to try and get that done before the summer's out. Should ask about this before I pick up the car. (Should've asked before I agreed on a price, but oh well)

I've gone up above 4,500 RPM a few times recently...and I've noticed a cloud of smoke behind me as I've done so. Just because I can doesn't mean I should.

No offense intended here, but based on the pictures it doesn't seem like the PO was excessively concerned with maintenance. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

I believe it's illegal to drive in some states wearing headphones, so you might want to check into that.

He was. This car is very solid. Exterior wise, not so much. Mechanically, yes. (And I don't drive with headphones. I plan on getting some sort of adapter or FM transmitter)

You can have my old Kenwood head unit if you can wait that long to get your ass handed to you.

I did the tape adapter thing in my CAmry. It muffles the audio significantly vs. line-in or native CD input. That might not matter if the stock speakers are mediocre, though.
