I take it you have not imposed a "no food in the car" rule?

My mom tried this... and pen appeared on the headliner.  She just said fuck it.

(she has leather anyways but whatever, she also said no light colored carpet)

We've tried, but it doesn't work.  Especially when you make regular trips that are over an hour.

Food isn't the only problem, either. Mud/dirt is much easier to clean off leather or vinyl than cloth.

i kept this rule when driving a new 2004 nissan maxima se - until i traded it in for the 2008 maxi. the car was flawless. i am not so good about it today. leather-or-not, it is difficult in our fast paced society.

True, but I just hate the feel of leather and much prefer cloth.

I also have a no food in the car rule, unless it's a closed beverage (no open cups).

Your kids can't go an hour without eating?

I must have been fucking awesome.  I used to just sit in the back seat and only eat/drink when offered.

+1. I think my dad let me eat in his Jeep once it became his second vehicle that was pretty much only used for baseball practice and Home Depot runs (i.e. he didn't really care).

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

whether real or fake, suede seems like a dirt magnet! not unlike a suede coat. pointless, aside from looks when brand new and for comfort. anything suede or suede-like often end-up ingrained with dirt, debris, oils, mega stains and severe matting.
