Can't wait for September. This is like waiting all last summer for Rush to come out.
Rush didn't have a new album last year.

Abbotsford. Might be going back in a few weeks.
Damn.  That's 4 hours away.  Are you going to be there for the air show?

FlatBlackCaddy

I think my NB looks great, nice and clean with a very slight bit of aggressiveness. Granted the lowered height and wide RS3's help the last part.

As long as they don't go off the deep end of stupid I think it will look fine.

Quite possible. I've been working at the airport there, and the airshow falls on the dates I should be there. I'll know for sure in a couple days, and I'll PM you when I know.

Onslaught

I think a mix of the best of the NA and NB would make the perfect miata. And if you wanted to spend big money you could make one. Seeing that the NA and NB are the same car really. In the end it look like a FD RX-7 Conv.

There was a documentary- it's on Netflix, pretty good as it's mostly original stuff.

Looks promising.  If it looks anything like some of the renderings, I may actually want to buy one.  The current one is odd looking.

Onslaught

I hope it looks good and performs well. But I don't think I'd get one. No need in having two and I'm starting to become an old fart. I like older cars more.

Not just for old people.  I prefer my car to newer versions, and even some of my non car guy friends like driving older cars more.

For me it's almost all because if the high belt lines in new cars. I hate everything about them. The way they they make the cars look. To the way I feel like I'm inside a huge bathtub when I'm in then. And how you can see shit backing up in most modern cars now.

I know it's safer. And if I was about to get hit in the side I'd love them. But until that moment I can't stand them.

12,000 RPM

Yea my car is downright scary to park, even though its the same exact size as my wife's Rabbit. Maybe a little wider.

Not all modern cars are like that though. Toyobaru feels like a 94 Integra.

Agree. It feels much less confining to be able to rest my elbow on the door while driving the Miata.

FlatBlackCaddy

when are these things supposed to be coming out?

I'm thinking of picking up an NC and throwing a FM supercharger on it. I'd like to know the final details and specs just in case a new ND would be an option over the modded NC.

September 4th I think.

Yeah, definitely wait first. What are you driving these days anyways? I know you sold just about the whole garage.

September 3 it will have a world reveal. As for when you can buy one I've got no idea. But in Sep you'll know if you'll like the ND or not.

I sold: Audi A6, Evo 8, and my NB miata
Just the two nissans left(240, 300).

I'm guessing the 240 will be gone by the end of the week.

The local dealer has a nice NC, Dark titanium with dark tan top and leather 50 thousand miles one it that was owned by a club member. Looks like it has bilsteins and a stainless exhaust on it. I think they want 14K.

Flyin Miata sells a "targa package" for around 7K.

The package plus a nice used(13-14K) miata would make a nice little track/auto/sunny day car.

I'm guessing I'll like it, just moreso waiting on the final numbers(weight, power, price).

That'd put you around $20k for everything.  I'd wait to see the new miata first.  I think it'll be a more compelling buy for an extra couple thousand, honestly.  Get a new vehicle, should be significantly lighter, and turbo'ed.  You might be a new miata + an exhaust & tune away from the same power to weight ratio in a nicer package.

I still don't believe the 2200 lb figure. I figure over 2300. Then again, Mazda did some boneheaded things like the 26 lb exhaust on the NC. Who knows what else they did like that. Maybe the ND will be better in that regard, which would help weight a lot.

And even though I love my NC,I definitely would wait for the unveiling before deciding either way, unless your budget restricts you from a new car.

Crossing my fingers for an ND FRC

Def curious to see what they do. I think they can get it down around 2200 but it's gonna be shrink wrapped
