Personally, I'm going to wait a while. I....might....be a buyer for the new RX car.

Yassssss. Glad I'm not the only one still riding the hype train for a new rotary.

That's how I'm feeling now. A few more years of the G and I'll be in the market for a MX-5 variant of some sort. Gives my husband time to recover from the PTSD of that highway accident, too.

When we climbed in the little ND at the auto show, I looked at his face and he was like this:

The more I look at it, the more I love it. I think I'd have to drive it with the "top" down to see if it gives a convertible like feeling or if it's too closed off.

Dude, you just bought an S2000. You're set for life in the convertible department!

Man this Miata is fast. Just watched a MW review... 5.9 to 60, 14.6 @ 94 in the quarter mile. This is a 13 second car with bolt ons

Unless it has vents in the "c" pillar I doubt it.  Windows down in a 2 dr coupe has had buffeting (my car included with the top up).  With a 4dr I found there's not so much with the rear windows down.

*I haven't driven this yet, so I don't know for sure

There seems to be a big variance on this. Older cars ( pre ubiquitous air conditioning perhaps) seem to be much better about riding windows down, but there are clear exceptions.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I think old cars don't suffer from buffeting because their aerodynamics suck and the air isn't attached to the surface nearly as much as on newer cars.

For life?! Woah, bold claim. Next 3-5 years, yeah. After that, who knows? New rx-7 sounds like a viable replacement.

That's quite possible.

Psh, my future kid is inheriting mine. I may get something else in the meantime, but bro, we own collectors, especially with low mileage in clean condition.

12,000 RPM

Yea getting rid of a low mileage good condition S2000 would be a big big mistake. Put it in storage or w/e but that thing is an investment for sure.

Love to have a cherry VR4.

U better buy now bro, they are approaching $20K

My pick of that litter would be an FD... maybe 2... 1 as a collectors item and 1 with a 20B swapped in to actually drive.

I don't want one that badly. $20K is a pretty nice S2000, or Boxster.

12,000 RPM

I remember when nice S2Ks cost like 10K. The used car market has flipped on its head in the last decade.

I'm not a believer in car investments. Too many cars in the world to hold onto to one just because it might be valuable in the future. If there's a different car that you want in a few years, might as well get it

Oh yeah, I'm not holding on to mine just for the value of it. I  the car.

They're cute little cars, those hondas.

I'm not either, but it's nice when you don't lose value with your purchase.

  I just remembered you had made a post about wanting an Mx-5, but with a fixed roof and back seats and a V6

so they just threw two extra doors on too

No, Sporty wants the exterior size and weight of a Miata with the interior space of a midsize sedan or crossover.  Basically, he wants a TARDIS.

This is the second TARDIS reference I've read today, unless you read the TTAC review of the Camaro......

I don't think my demands are too high, at least anymore. An E90 is the same size as the Civic.... I could probably settle for a 335i at this point, if it can fit an infant seat behind my wife.
