saw this in the active viewings stats,

havent' watched it, just wanted to say that tiff kicks ass.

When I wan't comedy, i watch top gear.

When I wan't a serious review from a real driver, i see what tiff has to say.

2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.
You can take the troll out of the Subaru, but you can't take the Subaru out of the troll!

Great vid, great car, great driver/reviewer

Truthfully I wish there were a no-nonsense counterpart to Top Gear. All the pomp + circumstance doesn't provide much technical insight.

the Teuton

Just watched it. Conclusion: Screw the all-out efficiency of the 997. I still want a 993 Turbo, preferably an S.

fifth gear is still on air IIRC, and that is exactly what you describe. Fifth gear is no-nonsense but with alittle bit of fun and humor thrown in. Tiff gives the straight forward driver reviews, and the rest(jason, vicki and the other guy that I can't recalll right now) still give a little comic relief with fact based grounded pov's.

I think all of this season's Fifth Gear episodes were already in the can before Ben "The Stig" Collins signed up.  Look out for him next season.

P.S. There's no mention of Collins on the Fifth Gear website yet.

I also love the pure joy he gets out of driving. It's good to know that someone who's driven countless cars can still find that kind of child-like amusement from driving.

If there was ever a car that needed a short throw shifter, it's this one.  Man his shifts are long.

Nah.. The Porka's tranny is just weak.  It can't handle Heinricy like shifts.

I'm talking about the actual physical length of the throw.

I see now, I read that as slow first time.

You've never driven an E39 or E60 M5 6-speed. They have the same shifters, so it doesn't make a diff which one you drive. The throws are long.

And that car is considered to have one of the best shifters in the world.

I hate long throws.  I would take a worse shifting short throw over a perfect shifting long throw any day.

The long throws remind me of a muscle car. It's not that bad.

Yes it is bad.  I've driven plenty of cars with long throws and plenty of cars with short throws.  Luckily I own a car with one of the slickest shifters ever and I've got a short throw shifter in there too.  The stock shifter was a little easier to shift, but the super short throws more then make up for it.  My Mustang had long throws and I installed a B&M Ripper shifter and the throws were extremely short but notchier...but the extremely short throws made it all worth it.

I'd never have a car with long throws. Never.

Both my car and the M5 have about the same kind of distance with their long throws. The difference is that my car's shifter feels kinda junky while the M5 is amazing and a half, much less any BMW 6-speed. It's not that bad.

Best car I've ever driven, hard, is a 993 regular Carrera.  Favorite car in the world.

BimmerM3

I love short throws too, but the Accord has pretty long throws, so I can handle it. I've been tempted several times to get a short-shift kit, but I never pulled the trigger.

I like long throws, what is this short throw nonsense?
