Corollas are the worst.

I disagree with your disagreement. Our old D15-powered Civic sounded like a sewing machine. I remember telling my dad that in those exact words. But it also revved like a motherfucker and sounded great at WOT -- which happened a lot with only 90 hp.

I've heard more good-sounding Honda 4-bangers than Toyota 4-bangers.

Recalling a story from C/D, it was very easy to outrun the cops when their cruisers were so equipped.

Those diesel cop cruisers were meant for CRUISING! Not catching bad guys!

Stock 4 bangers sound like sewing machines because at low engine speeds/lows the sounds of accessories are much more audible
