They don't even make the Z51 anymore.  It's the Grandsport now.

I'd have every other generation over a C5. It's never appealed to me.

My dad was looking at C3 ths weekend. It wasn't in too bad of shape, just needed a paint job and other asthetic type things. Guy wanted like $8500 for it, so not a bad deal, but not good enough to make my dad bite.

hotrodalex

It was a '69 Sting Ray, BTW. (sorry, can't edit on the mobile site)

My Coolness Scale:

C1 > C2 > C6 > C5 > C3 > C4

My order of purchase scale:

C1 > C6 > C5 > C2 > C4 > C3

The reason why I wouldn't be very likely to purchase the C2 is because they're so friggin expensive for the good models. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that. Can you buy a normal, decent condition C2 for less than a normal, decent condition C1?

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

I've seen decent drivers for a 63-67 model that would show well in the $50,000 range

GoCougs

Generally, the C2 is the most expensive gen.

You'd pick a C6 Z51 over a C6 ZR1 if money was no object?
Yea, LS2 Vettes are plenty fast. Maybe I'd get a C6 Z06

Tave

The Z06 can't handle its own power, but maybe they fixed it.

Over the past few years they've tinkered with it and now it's much better. Especially since you can now get the ZR1 suspension bits with the Z07 package.

I had an uncle that used to have a 78 Vette.  Arlgiht looking car but not something I think I would get unless it was cheap.

Actually that pushes the price to about $85K, but the Z06 with Z07 pack will eat a Cayman alive if you know what you're doing.  And the LS7 is one of the engines that IMO sounds better than a flat-6
