And you have a Miata, the enthusiast dream car, so why would you want anything else? Seriously, stop complaining about that car or I'll drive to California and slap you.
Besides the terrible suspension I'm not complaining.

I haven't driven an NC Miata, but my guess is that if you drive a few other sports cars, you will find that the NC has an excellent suspension.

Oh no, it's a terrible suspension. Just terrible. A 1982 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible is a far superior sports car. It would eat MX-5 it for breakfast on both the ride and handling departments.

It has too much body roll and even the smallest bumps make it very unsettled. It doesnt feel planted at all.

Obviously the Accord.
Um, it feels unsettled because it doesn't weigh 3500 lbs. That's part of the fun. I you put racing springs on it, it will just get "worse".

Actually NCs are notoriously underdamped, Mr H can confirm

I don't think weight necessarily provides a "settled" feeling.  I took my Mazda out for a spin the other day (keep the battery charged up and the fluids flowing) and it definitely feels more planted in the twisties than my Mustang.  Made me really rethink my decision to autocross the Mustang this season instead of the Mazda.  That and the fact that nobody has been running H stock this season (and it was the fact that nobody typically runs F stock so I'd have been pretty much guaranteed a class title that prompted me to run the Mustang).

I think I have more experience than most here with an NC Miata. It's also a well known issue on miata.net that Mazda messed up the suspension on the NC1.

Motorcyclis was minding his business. Truck done him wrong.

To be fair, you won't find a story in the paper with the headline, "Motorcyclist avoids collision," ya know?

So many questions too

Was it light out, was it a blind turn, how fast was the rider going yadda yadda

I'm scared to die so motorcycles are out. But I am not sure they are that bad

Raza I think it would BEHOOVE you to learn to turn a wrench... or link with people who do, anyway. You could get an old Honda or something and make it raw enough to satiate your purist tendencies. Railing on my first Accord in its best state of tune made for some of the most memorable drives I've ever had. You'd be surprised how little hardware you need to have fun behind the wheel.

Oh, I saw a Scrambler today.  Damn near crashed, it was so beautiful.  A motorcycle is in my future.  But I'm not so sure it's the right move right now.

As for the danger....people die in cars all the time.  Idiots, with far less natural skill (in a car) or intelligence than I ride motorcycles everyday and come out alive.  When I die, it'll likely be of my own doing, I'm sure of that, but the fear of death will never keep me from a bike.

Death isn't the problem. Death is the easy way out if something happens. It's when you don't die that's the problem.

Again, it's not your own skills you have to worry about, it's the 300lb latte swilling Iphone movie watching Americans focused on everything but the road ahead of them, making turns in front of you at the last minute. I remember your arguments against ESC... I would hate for you to apply such "logic" to riding a motorcycle.

And I wasn't suggesting the Accord. Now an old Prelude! That's a sports car!

shp4man

Take the motorcycle safety course, then decide. Personally, riding defensively is just a part of motorcycling, you can't let your guard down! That's why most of us like riding backroads with little traffic. Also, the headlight on bright during the day will usually get cagers attention. Usually.
