My mom's Legacy gets 34mpg at 65mph.  Will be a little worse with an Outback, and a little worse yet with the 3.0, but the 3.0 sounds sweet and is really smooth.  Also has a decent tow rating.

I have to call shenanigans on this. It's a Subaru made before the new CVT era.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.
You can take the troll out of the Subaru, but you can't take the Subaru out of the troll!

That's what instant MPG said, so you're probably correct.  But we hand calculated 27mpg avg 40% city, 60% highway for the last 10K miles.

I'm a fan. Did he keep the 535i?

Yup. The 535i will still be his main car. He originally wanted a car for going on home depot runs and driving up to hiking trails in North GA, but it became a bit more serious now that he's moving to Colorado. He never wanted a truck, but a few extra inches of clearance and some AWD might be exactly what he needs out there (and don't worry - I'll do my best to convince him to buy an extra set of rims with snow tires).

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

Looks good. I'm not a wagon person (as is well established by now), but it's a sharp looking car with a clean interior. Should be more than capable of what it sounds like he is wanting it for.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

Now he can move out here and fit right in.
He's moving to Boulder CO, so he'll fit right in even betterer.

Why's that? (I'm apparently missing something here, but it's also been several years since I've been to Boulder.)

Can you get back with the kind of MPGs he gets with it?  I'm wondering how much worse is can be with the flat 6, but with an extra gear.

It's the fancier model. Heated seats and whatnot.

More like wood on the steering wheel and logos inside.

Would still love an Outback XT M/T w/super low mileage if one could be found; the styling is far superior to the new Outback even if space utilization is poorer. The new Legacy GT has too little ground clearance for me. I could easily rock a new Outback if the flat-6 was offered w/MT despite not being a fan of the styling...

Colorado is like Subaru-ville, particularly front range areas like Boulder.

I assume the car is a subaru, the ad was taken down.

Can't see it now- assuming an LL Bean Outback?   What year?

I want to say it was a 2008, but I can't remember. I did take it for a quick drive though. It was a pretty nice car and I think it'll serve his purposes pretty well. My only complaint was that the transmission was pretty slow to react, but it might just be that I've gotten used to pretty good autos on the occasion that I drive one.

How many gears is it? 4 or 5?

I think the LLBean and the XT had a 5 speed while the base engine had a 4 speed.

Auto transmissions suck, and Subie auto transmissions aren't very good..
