American Top Gear: What should their "track car" be?

On the British Top Gear show they have a reasonably priced car for their track. The American Top Gear lacks this feature.

Therefore, if the US version had a track, what should the track car be?

Post a photo of the car and explain why. NO SPORTS CARS OR EXOTICS ARE ALLOWED.

Here's my choice: 1973 Chrysler New Yorker

Here's why: It wasn't made for handling or driving fast which will make it fun to watch as celebrities (or even the Stig) struggle to control it on a race track!

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Camry or Corolla.
Correct!

A stickshift Yaris would be even better. The car is supposed to be cheap and slow. I forget which car it was that they had where one of the front wheels broke off during a long sweeper. Maybe a Hyundai Accent would be better.

Fit or Yaris...

My vote for the Fit because its a blast to drive but ultimately isn't all that fast.

Failing that, an Accent or the Kia equivalent.
Honda, The Heartbeat of Japan...

2004 Acura RSX Type S 6spd 200hp 142lb/ft
1989 Honda Accord Coupe LX 5spd 2bbl 98hp 109lb/ft *GONE*

A stickshift disqualifies some of the celebrity drivers, though.

Yeah, I've seen several TopGear UK celebrity guests that didn't know how to drive stick. That's part of the humor of the skit.

Wouldn't that get old after half the American celebrities can't get the car moving?

Vinsanity

The Suzuki was a fair choice. Although I really would've liked to see a Prius or Honda Insight stumble its way around the track.

Infiniti QX56, with televisions in every headrest and Truck Nutz on the back.

It's also reasonably priced by American standards, ie. if you just look at the monthly payment! Don't look at the total cost, just look at the monthly payment!

It would be hilarious to see that whale lolling around on the track. I'd like to see Hammond give it his rendition of The Ol' Scandanavian Flick - SLAM! One less QX on the road.

Nah, they'd figure it out. Plus there are plenty of US celebs who are also enthusiasts and know how to drive manuals. It wasn't that long ago that a lot of people grew up learning on a standard.

It might be funny to watch a celebrity learn how to drive stick. Laugh at their herka-jerka-jerk antics. Hey look, they're just like us!

Even funnier than watching celebrities flog a Prius around the old airfield would be watching them flog a Crown Vic. Even funnier would be if it were a decommissioned cop car.
