Actually the Genesis seems like a good way to go... the 10 year warranty is probably good for someone on a fixed income, which Dave will be, hopefully sooner rather than later... ;)

Wouldn't be better to just ask your chauffeur what he would like to drive?

It's probably not practical for him to buy one of these:

If they actually bring this car out to market....

I think the Model S will be a better car, but neither may be as sporty as he seems to be looking for.

I think an A6 would suit you. You're just not a big enough prick to buy another BMW.
You also need a mid-life-crisis car, so maybe say to heck with the practical sedan and get an Audi S5. Make Ron jealous.

I would go G37 Sedan 6MT, M56, or Genesis 5.0 R Spec.

I voted "other." You should check out the Jaguar XF.

Everyone and their mom has a 5-Series, A6, or E-Class. Not only is the Jaguar somewhat more of an unusual, cool choice, it also sounds like the best car in the class, IMO. It has the best interior and best balance of ride/handling. I also think it's the best looking, although your tastes may differ from mine.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Galaxy

If you want a car that has some degree of practicality, but don't want a wagon then the A7 might be worth a look.

Anyone who suggests the A7 needs their head examined. Cross the A7 off the list immediately.

I would prefer A6 Avant, but that is not on the list.  :ohyeah:

But  what is wrong with an A7, except perhaps for the fact that the essentially identically vehicle is more expensive then it's A6 sibling?

I think Audi owners are bigger pricks then BMW ones.

You did not meet the "GET OFF MY LAWN" BMW owner that I met last week. We owned his stupid ass with intellect, but I was prepared to use my fists.

The only people I know that drive either brands are actually quite pleasant. There seem to be more young douchebags driving BMWs around though. That said, a guy in a S8 about ran me off the road merging into me today, so some Audi drivers are probably assholes.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

I like the idea of something a little more unusual like a Jag.

Because a lot of the former BMW pricks are migrating to Audis.

I recommend a DAF 600: classic lines, boxer engine, CVT transmission, celebration of your Dutch heritage.

The local Audi dealer uses my road for test drives. Those people are ass holes. Now the BMW people could be too. But they don't drive by here. I find MB people to be the big dicks on the road.

I second the Genesis but I would recommend the V6 model.  Honestly, I don't see why you would need the 4.6 or 5.0.  The V6 already makes 330hp and is ample quick while being a decent amount cheaper.

The drivers of the G35/37s seem like the privileged boy-racer types around here, but beyond that I don't have enough observation to have much of an opinion about them. Infiniti's more expensive luxury cars and SUVs do not seem to sell well here. They're probably the least common "large" luxury brand I see around here, despite the dealership's heavy advertising.

Besides, the Genesis isn't remotely sporty.  I don't understand the love affair people on here have with it.
