Not a fan of the "911 Carrera S" badge. A simple "Carrera S" one is better.

Its too busy with "P O R S C H E" and "911 Carrera S" all on the back.

68_427

If it's anything like the 997 there will be multiple debadge options.

+1. I'd much prefer a simple "Carrera S."

About the badging, there are several options.

The standard PORSCHE 911 Carrera S, plus:

You can also, for a surcharge of course, have the badging done in the exterior color, or an alternative exterior color.

Nonsense!  If anything, the lettering needs to be bigger... and illuminated.  They should also etch a huge Porsche crest in the rear windshield glass.

It needs to be like that or else people will think it's the new Hyundai something and nobody wants to spend $ 450,000 on a 911 and have people confuse it with a Hyundai.  :ohyeah:

I think they should just redesign the car into a Porsche badge shape.

Well you can get Carrera S stickers for the side for a modest ? 535.50. Comes in 4 colors. For  the more appropriate aggresive look, I must recommend the Aero kit for a mere ? 4,965. It comes with a permanent spoiler.

The Porsche logo on the head rest (?202.20).....

...the Carrera S writing on the armrest (?226.10)...

... and the key in exterior paint (?232.05) are obligatory.

If you do feel the need to penny pinch, I recommend you skip purely practical options, that will have no impact on your social standing, such as the rear window wiper for ? 345.10  , or the cruise control for ? 392.70  :mask:. And just in case you're wondering that is not a radar cruise control...

Well the key comes in 911 shape. Just so there can be no doubt if you put it on the bar table.

Hehe, I can admit to putting my Porsche key with a Porsche crest on it on a key ring with a leather Porsche crest fob for just that purpose.

The center armrests would need to be extended by a couple feet to accommodate their naming scheme.

One thing that just occurred to me, the new 911 does not seem to pay much heed to pedestrian protection regulation, which are attibuted to the flat fronts of many of the cars of today. Perhaps this is due to there not being an engine in the front?

It very well may be the lack of an engine up front.  I believe part of what is driving the taller, stubbier fronts is that the requirements call for a certain amount of empty "crush space" between the hood and the engine so that if a pedestrian falls onto the hood after being struck, their landing is softer.  With no motor under the "hood", you've got ample cushion space.

Just stick some 911 plush toys on the bumper and rear decklid.

That looks really good, but they went all Rolex with the text at the back.

Well that settles it then. To best protect pedestrians manufacturers should build more cars w/engines in the back.

Crush space? I always thought hoods were getting taller because of the need to have a more forgiving angle for when a car hits a person. That's why (I think) cars with pointy, low noses always seem to do badly.

Nope, not angle.  It has to do with the distance between the engine block and the hood.  My suggestion?  Pedestrians, stop fucking jaywalking.

This militant entitlement mentality is literally fatal. In Japan, cars have the right of way, and guess what? Far fewer pedestrian/bicycle fatalities.

Anytime a car hits a bicyclist or ped, the driver is at fault.

Open the hood of any car made 7 years or so and you'll see that the fender is bolted directly to the apron or radiator support. You open up most modern day cars hoods and you'll see that the aprons have raised up brackets that the fender mounts on.  It gives almost and inch or so clearance between the fender and the rest of the car.
It's so when you hit a person it will only fuck them up rather then really fuck them up. The hood hinges and all that stuff have to be raised up for the same reason. And hoods are thick because they have to crush when a person rolls over them.

It's one of the reasons cars like the Camry look like shit. It's also funny because you can move a fender around with your hands because the brackets bend really easy.
