Although that was a pretty crappy commercial it did succeed in grabbing the attention.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

It also made the car look like a fashion accessory.

I suppose that is good for some sales, but fashion is fickle, and I'd rather see the car being sold on its merits.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

good point. i think it will take time for fiat to grab attention with such things as proven reliability, quality control, performance (MPG, ride, handling, power) and resale value. at the moment, i assume it is the car's cuteness, size, love-at-first-sight, nostalgia, initial test drive and relatively low price that are selling many 500s at juncture. i hope the car and fiat as a corporation succeed here in NA.

Can't be any worse than Eddie Bauer, I suppose.

gucci is certainly italian and especially coveted amongst wealthy women all over the world, but not too certain about the demographics of the rather simplistic fiat 500 and 500C. the eddie bauer brand's rugged image seemed like the perfect fit for the ford vehicles using its name to sell designer inspired trucks and SUVs.

I think J-Lo should do commercials for fat-removing-from-the-ass-cellulite medical procedures.  :ohyeah:

Mercedes has done Neiman Marcus editions as well.  Fashion and cars have gone together for a long time, like it or not.

so true, and the 2011 NM christmas catalogue featuring a very limited edition vehicle should be out soon. i think jaguar was the featured car last year.

Can't be any worse than Eddie Bauer, I suppose.

Eddie Bauer's crimes are that they're predictable and mainstream. Gucci's crimes are that they're logo driven, tasteless, gaudy and overpriced.

Having me think an Explorer is predictable and mainstream is one thing: But do you really want people to think of your car the way people think of Gucci?

I finally saw the J-Lo Fiat commercial on TV tonight.  Having never listened to any of her music, I'm wondering if her voice is as heavily auto-tuned in her songs as it was in this commercial?  How does anyone become so famous with so little talent?  She's not even that attractive, either.

She's trying very hard to stay relevant. I never understood her appeal, I guess maybe because she's Latina and a semi-decent actress.
