My van is much faster than a ULAWLL. Those things are 1) extra extra heavy, and 2) beat to all hell and shit on.

This one had like 4,000 miles

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

The V6 model is slower. I hate driving my parents van.

Yours is a V6, too?
It's not bad when it's empty. I don't care if it's slow when it's loaded, either, as long as it keeps going.

Yeah, it's the 4.2L with around 200HP. Ours is a conversion van, though.

It's very slow, and it's also in a state of extreme disrepair. The steering wheel turns into a vague questionnaire at 60MPH.

Mine is in damn good shape. It used to be a fleet vehicle, then this guy bought it and replaced the valve springs, and now I have it.

Nick, you should totally put wood floors in it.  That would be the most awesome thing ever.  And carpet walls.

Damn, dood. It's not a Volvo or anything fancy. I'm going to do a spray on bedliner in the back, on the bumpers, and patch up a few spots on the body. Maybe find a new hubcap for the front left wheel. Other than that, it's not getting a cosmetic makeover. This is a work van.

I drove this the other day.

The big vans we used during college field trips had very large V8s. They were very fast. 90 mph in Montana, except suggested - 5 mph for the corners. We also had a V8 cargo/people sit on the floor van for work in college. Plenty of power, but almost no brakes. Great for going up Bham's big hills, no so much going the other way.

Now I drive 350 hp pick 'em up trucks. :praise:

4.2 V6 is no slouch, but no speed demon. 4-wheel disc brakes are for racing, though the pedal feels like stepping on a souffl?.

I swear, the vans at work pull harder than my car. :mask:

Unfortunately they don't do so well at the turning or braking.

The blower fan seems to have fixed itself, or maybe I did it when I was playing with the fuse box.
Now that I've put a solid 20 miles on it, I think the rear brakes are just about gone. When the previous owner said he put new brakes on it, he must have meant the fronts, which, by the way, are a bit warped.

No big deal. I can do brakes in my sleep, and it gives me a chance to put on high performance heavy duty industrial strength brake pads and cross drilled and slotted rotors.

I'll be moving somewhere in the next few months, as soon as I can find a job somewhere. The van can haul anything but ass, and I get to keep it when I'm done, rather than throwing my money in the garbage for a UHAUL.

But the real question: why don't you have a van?

I'm thinking I should get some of those sweet LED light strips and stick some in the footwells, and some on the ceiling of the cargo area.

Big V8s are big V8s. I think the fastest thing I've driven, in terms of 0-60 acceleration, was the Hemi 2500 six-pack for work.
