Meh, you're going to be fined regardless.  NY just wants (needs) money.  I've plead down to the 1110(a) a number of times.  Last I knew, it carried 2 points and was a lesser fine.  I'd take it personally.  Court is certainly worth going for an issue where you'd lose your license or be facing a serious fine, but for shit like this, it's not worth the time.  

Take the deal, pay up and be done with it.

Or just showing up in person and dealing with the ADA. I definitely won't be able to get off scot-free, but I'd ideally plead down to the 1110(a). I just don't know how likely this is.

Is this your first ticket in the last 18months?  Chances are your DA will go to 1110A without you saying anything.

Last two times I was represented in court my "reckless endangerment" tickets were reduced to a no-point seatbelt violation and the other tossed out entirely. It sure pays to be white and connected down here

What will be the specific outcome if you don't go to court?  If you can't find that out, then I would go.  If nothing else, it's good for the entertainment value.

The court clerk was being deliberately non-specific. All she said was that "the outcome will be the same." Not good enough for me.
