Dude, take the Mustang.  I predict epic Poon acquisition being the only dude with a LHD GT on the entire island.

They don't make RHD Mustangs, and there's bound to be at least one other Mustang there.  But still, it would be a veritable exotic in England.

Not quite as exotic as you'd think.  There are 47 Mustangs on UK Autotrader right now.

That's pretty rare when you consider there are 65 Gallardos, 84 Ferrari F430s, 37 Ferrari 458s, 54 Lotus Evoras, over 100 Audi R8s and over 100 Aston DB9s on there right now as well.  And of those 47 Mustangs, less than half are late model.  Meaning that it's presumably rarer than a 458 Ferrari, assuming the number for sale is representative of the number on the street.

Fair point.  But, you have to admit, 47 units for sale is a pretty impressive number considering we're talking about a car that's never been officially sold in the UK.

BTW, I know quite a few British ex-pats here in Nashville (when you play cricket, it hard not to meet a few!).  Anyway, one of them, upon first arriving in America, just had to live the "American Dream" and get himself a Mustang convertible.  Bear in mind, this was about twenty years ago when the Fox-Mustang was still current.  Only after buying the car did he finally realise how shit is was!

I went in with super low expectations and came away thinking that was one of the best comedies in that genre I'd seen in a long while.

Yup.  Definitely the best since The Hangover.  Maybe not as riotously funny, but more intelligently written.

There are indeed a surprising number of Mustangs in the UK........... probably not as many as there are Astons and even Ferrari F430s, but it is far from the rarity that you might imagine.

Oh I do get it.

And I'd never even bother with some punk in a POS trying to race me in a superior car. I've experienced that a handful of times when I was driving my dads 500SL with the top down. Some ricer in a slammed and riced-out Opel Corsa or VW Polo will rev his engine next to me and take-off like the cops are after him when the light turns green.

Why should I bother wasting my time, my gas and my rubber on something like that? The 500SL would have smoked this clown. And even if he had some sort of tuning under the hood that made him faster than me, I could care less.

Most of us are not street racers, you know...

Miata wins.

Thanks guys

(I can just de-register the Miata during the winter and pick up a hot hatch to drive in the winter/spring.  I will either have to keep the Miata in the garage or off base at a friend's place if they have room.  Maybe storage)

Here's what you should do: sell the Miata and buy a 1988 Dodge Ram dualie. Make sure the doors are off a different colored truck, install a gunrack in the back window, paint the tailgate in a Confederate flag motif, install Yosemite Sam mudflaps and fake bull testicles on the trailer hitch, mount a CB radio with 20 foot whip antenna, mount a 24 point moose rack on the front grille, so on and so forth...

Oh, extra points for "Fuck the Queen" and "Manchester United Eats Cock" bumper stickers.

Miata.

Fuel prices, narrow roadways. Small parking spots and garages. As much as I love Mustangs, I'd find it infuriating not to be able to open it up every once in a while. That and be prepared for oodles and oodles of speed cameras.
