What the title said... Another scandal for NJSP.

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/04/nj_state_troopers_face_probe_f.html

QuoteThe State Police are investigating complaints that two troopers escorted a caravan of luxury sports cars at speeds in excess of 100 mph down the Garden State Parkway to Atlantic City last month. The occupants included former Giants running back and sports car enthusiast Brandon Jacobs, according to a source with knowledge of the trip.

In the complaints, obtained by The Star-Ledger, witnesses said that in the early afternoon March 30, they saw two State Police patrol cars with their emergency lights flashing driving in front of and behind the southbound caravan, which included dozens of Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and other vehicles, all with their license plates covered with tape.

Have at it....

Something like this happened not too long ago with D.C. police. The celebrity (I forget who) tweeted a photo of his speedometer.

w0w.  If they wanted to give these guys a free run they could have just stayed away and told their colleagues not to bother them.  Not that it would have been much better, but it would have been way less obvious.

Both?  I'll take both.  Police escort to speed at will, and police escort waiting for me at the hotel.

I feel sorry for the NJSP guys in some ways. There are a lot of great troopers who are lumped in with these clowns. That said, there's something wrong, top-down, with this agency. It's a scandal a month, it seems.

That's what I was thinking too.

Ha, that would have been awesome.

:hesaid:
That was a great opportunity to follow along with the caravan, at a discreet distance.

They just wanted to get out of that dumpy state as fast as possible.

Well, they did manage to get out of the northern half of the state, which is pretty dumpy (although wealthy). The rest of the state is like everywhere else.
