- Name: cross between a nut and Obama's last running mate
- No mistaking this from any other brand: it's a handsome Porche, no doubt
- Great genes, IMO

...yet not in love just yet...

No, this will not dilute the brand like a $35K sports car because it will be more expensive and with that ubiquitous VW 4-cylinder engine, no doubt be the best performer in its class...

As long as the SUV doesn't dilute the sports and GT carmaker's brand, I'm cool with it.

You're looking at the future of Porsche, Raza.

2-3 iterations, this... not the Cayman or the 911... will carry the GT3 torch

I'm gonna keep the Landie for the long haul. But the plan is to buy a 2 seater when it's all paid for. I'll probably pay it off a year early, so another year and a half or so. Ironically I wouldn't have minded getting something in the range of the "baby Boxster" as that next car.

Atomic

The Audi Q5 can get mighty pricey fast. I assume this new costlier Q5-based Porche will jump up at an equal rate or a lot quicker and with an even higher base priced than the Audi SUV/Crossover. Affordable? Too early to tell, IMO.

If it turns out like the rendering, I really like it.  I bet the interior will be nice too.  Stick the Audi 3.0 BiTurbo diesel in and it would be an appealing Lottery win buy for me

So right! The interiors are superior -- a definite advantage. The Bi-Turbo with a Diesel? No change in the U.S., I bet !

omicron

It does look nice, but I echo the sentiments of others regarding this brand-dilution tomfoolery.

CJ

This brand dilution nonsense is giving Porsche the money necessary to build better, faster cars.

I like it. Looks better than the Cayenne, mostly due to size and proportions.

I'd like to see them design a delivery van, something along the lines of a Ford Transit or a Renault Kangoo, but differentiated enough that it wouldn't dilute Porsche's sporting heritage.

Delivery van with the Panamera's drivetrain sounds like a winner.

Well a German company from Stuttgart has recently done that.

I present to you the Mercedes-Benz Citan - the first badge engineered Benz based on the Renault Kangoo. Thank the alliance with Nissan/Renault for that...

Just stick a Porsche nose on this.  Job done.

And the Volkswagen Crafter was co-developed with Mercedes-Benz and actually rides on a Mercedes Sprinter platform. It's RWD (you can drift in it and make your girlfriend horny by just saying those words..."RWD, baby, RWD!!!"). Essentially it's a Mercedes Sprinter with a VW snout and badge up front.  :praise:

Surprised VW doesn't sell that here in the U.S. The Sprinter and Transit both do pretty well.

All of the new ambulances around here are Sprinters.

Also, introducing the Dacia Dokker.

It's also the cheapest, IIRC.
