In regards to the Maxima's I have owned, the front fog lights. They were the tilt down type. At least on the older SE models.

The XC60 has front and rear fog lights, at least on the R-Design variants... And I would think all all levels.

All fog lights are "tilt-down" type, i.e. aimed low. If they aren't aimed low, they don't work in the fog, and so are not fog lights. These are generally supposed to be driving lights.
