All I can say is that any time I've been to a classic car show, American cars made after ~1974 are a rare sight.  Corvettes are probably the only '74+ American car you'll see.  There's a reason for that.

They're getting to be more common now.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Nowadays, I think of that vintage as "depressing cars for depressing people". If you see someone get out of a Lincoln from that era, you subconsciously brace yourself against the impeding onslaught of cigarette stink.

I'm on the lookout for baseball bats and epic moustaches.

Here in Europe people will show up at classic car shows with a 1980s Caprice or Ford LTD, which is why I consider these cars to be classics (plus icons of their time).  :praise:

Some photos from various US car meets from Germany/Austria. Half the cars here are cars which you guys consider to be "POS", I don't.  :praise:

Mmmm...90s Caprice.  :mrcool:

Austrians, gotta love 'em. :praise:

Using the 25 years rule to define a "classic" or vintage car, technically anything made before '87 can be called a "classic".  Fact still remains that the time frame from about '74 to '85, especially for American cars, does not conjure much pleasant nostalgia amongst Americans.

Don't worry, I don't consider every 25+ year old car to be a classic, though I do find something simple like a 1980s Caprice or LTD/Crown Victoria to be very very cool.  :mrcool:

Let?s make a rule that (as above) you will include a hot chick in any crappy 70's american barge pic. That way it?s tolerable.
