I'd like more yellows and oranges.

How many shades of silver is needed?

edit:  I'd like to repaint my car someday...

My advice: Go with an authentic color for your year, make and model. Another shade or color offered the same MY is okay, if it compliments the interior, IMO, but I think a successful paint job is one that leads people to think it is original through and through. Keep us posted, bro!

I don't like green.  There are a few cars that do it right, but it's mostly dark green on sports cars.  I'm glad they're disappearing.  I wish the Juke and Veloster would disappear too.  And other ugly things, so I don't have to look at them anymore.

First or second generation Taurus was available in an emerald green metallic that was decent looking.  Jags pretty much always look good in a dark BRG.  Not these super bright, neon greens like the Veloster.  Real, grown-up shades of green.

No, white. I can say with total certainty, having scratched the shit out of white, dark grey, light grey/silver, and some other colors.

White is bad at hiding dirt, but it's the only way to go for scratches.

Yeah, I drove my LR2 through the car wash like two times in a row last week after off-roading the shit out of it in the NJ Pine Barrens. I heard one scrub pine branch nastily rub across the driver's side, but no evidence of a scratch. My mom had a Durango for 14 years (97-11) and there didn't appear to be one scratch on it.

I was actually liking the navy blue LR2 but glad I got the white since I'm ending up doing a lot of exploring on the sand/mud trails in the woods lately.

I desperately need tires better suited for off-road though. Thinking General Grabber AT2s.  :mask:

Automatic car washes are the worst thing you can do to your paint.  You're better off leaving it dirty!

Hand wash or nothing.

Well, I've definitely visibly scratched the shit out of some white paint, but it never looks nearly as bad as the blue JGC I've got for work this summer.

This, in a discussion about what color shows massive brush scratches the least? Yeah, don't think we're worried about automatic car washes in this context. ;)

You liked that color?

I never did, personally. I do not remember it selling all that well, but that is not necessarily a bad thing for exclusivity.

Myself, I like the current S60's copper color. I do not think I would buy one in this color (except used). Volvo currently has some great colors to choose from, I think.

Brown...

The 2013 Honda Accord Coupe looks very nice in this shade:

The best colour I've ever seen is a Pearlascent White by Lexus. Amaizing shade and depth in colour, the closest to a pearl I've ever seen .... basically the best thing ever to come out of Lexus :P

In another note, brown has becoming fashionable among the Germans. First it was VW with the Mocca Brown, then Porsche and then Audi, Mercedes and BMW followed with their own shades. VW intruduced their own too. I see allot of them here in Dubai.

I want more greens.  I love the obnoxious lime green that was on the last viper.  That looked awesome on that car.  I love 911s in green too.  Bright green GT3s

Good to hear, Pendyman! Once and awhile I deliver. Um, something other than the news of the next "new" Chrysler or the "top 10 virtues" of Honda Accord ownership

Actually, I do appreciate your feedback. I go to this site often.

I've seen some cars that look terrific in Navy Blue, very classy, especially with dark red interiors.

I like the yellow-orange the Mustang is available in. I want it on Miata, with white racing stripes and powdercoat the wheels white.

I also like Mustangs in dark green, which isn't a color you see too often.
