New blog post tonight.  Does it count as multitasking if I'm at work while writing a blog post?  I'll edit it and post it up when I get home.

MAn I eagerly await your impressions of the F430. Is it stickshift? Odds are high you will get paddles.

Great entry by the way... another commentary on the overarching American theme of objects vs content/experiences. Its easier (and more glamorous) to buy a race car than to become a race car driver. Its easy to project a life of success through FB posts and material milestones than to actually achieve it. Its easy to put the respobsibility of driving on the car than to tell people to learn how to drive. Just a reflection of the shite trajectory of American culture. A sharp contrast with (the still flawed in other ways) attitudes of say, Southern Europeans, WRT driving. They still respect it, they still revere it, they still enjoy it, even in a 30 year old paper-maiche Fiat Panda. Americans call their driving crazy, I call it just right lol.

Anyways again great entry, crystallized a lot.

I've been really busy since and I think I'm fighting a cold.  Basically, I go to work and come home and sleep.  I'm trying to get my head around how to write it.  It'll be soon, that much I promise.  Before the weekend.  Need time to clear my head, write it, and edit some photos.  I've jotted down a few drafts, but I didn't like any of them.

The car in Ronin was actually a 535i, as I recall, but it was badged as an M5.

Yup, it was me, Wimmer, CaMIRO, and one other guy whose name escapes me now.

And yeah, the Z4 is so awesome.  I love it so much.  I want to marry it and have its babies.

Same here.

I'm honestly a little distressed that it's been probably more than 2 years since I've had the chance to lose control of my car. I need to find an empty parking lot and rediscover my limits, because I've kind of forgotten them. And I feel like my car can be deceptive because when you expect it to start getting a little uncomfortable, it really just seems to magically clamp down like it's telling you "I see you've decided to go beyond normal driving, so I'm going HAM - good luck testing my limits on a public road without being completely irresponsibly reckless."

Nice write-up!  :ohyeah:

Oh yeah, be careful with "borrowed images". You always have to give the precise source.

Let me know if you need photos of some cars like a Ford Mustang GT500 Super Snake, Mercedes E350 CGI (W212) etc.

It's a long one.  It'll probably be late tonight, as I haven't gotten around to doing any photo editing yet.  But, I only have like 300 pictures, so it won't take too long.

But I emailed it to myself already, so don't worry about that.  I just need a proper closing paragraph and it's publish-ready.

Raza, you really are an excellent writer.  Your intelligence and ability to express abstract thoughts really shine through in these blogs.  You also have an innate understanding of the visceral joy of driving, something that all of us on this site most likely share, but many in the general population do not.

Is that your longest post?

I can see it being more difficult to write, since it was based on a specific experience centered on a particular car.  But you captured the whole experience really well.  I like the part about how you took it easy initially, so the pro would feel at ease with you and not call you on it when you got more aggressive.  Smart handling.  I can completely relate to the way you feel when you describe your driving experiences.

And yes, that is the longest post I've written so far, by almost 700 words.

There has to be a way to promote it through Facebook, at the very least.

I don't know about twitter.  I stay away from it.
