While sitting with the car idling in its designated parking spot, Dave extends one trembling finger towards the "DSC off" button. He hesitates, and then in a moment of pure, boundless exhillaration, he presses, and as the blood rushes to his extremities in a classic, primordial fight-or-flight respnse, he sees the amber glow of the DSC-off warning light, teasing him with the curling S-shapes emanating from the little glowing car icon.

In that moment: that little icon is his car, the instrument panel is his boundless black horizon, and those little s-shapes are his mark upon that bleak, unforgiving world.

Then, he exhales, presses it again, and watches the fantasy fade from view as he puts the car into drive.

Personally Dave, I wouldn't get a diesel.  There's so much promise when you stomp the throttle and you get such a wave of torque down low.  But then it just runs out of steam.  It's so anti-climatic to wring out that it kills it for me.

The 335d makes 313hp, that's still a lot of steam. And 465 lb*ft, lawdddd..

I saw it listed as around 250 hp.  Where did you see 313hp?

I blame Ron

Ron could get me in a lot of trouble.  That's why he's fun to hang out with.

Yeah.  I just like things to get more manic, louder, and faster the higher I go up in the revs.  Diesels feel all backwards to me.  Wouldn't mind something like that for a daily driver if I had a gas toy too.  But for my only car, give me the gas version.  Then you factor in the cost difference, and I'd definitely go gas over diesel.

My grandpa had that exact model.  I don't think my Dad realized what he had when he passed away.  Put it up for sale, and immediately a guy from Florida flew up and paid full asking price for it.

Terrible value for money, horrible gas mileage, and the less said about the handling, the better.

Okay, find me something that handles for less than $10,000 AND can haul around four kids and all their shit. Its not happening. This isn't the car that handles.

This is the car that tows the car that handles.
