This one had the 267(?)cu in V8 with a sticky lifter. Sounded sweet, torquey as all hell from a standstill, but thats about it. Oh and it was really good at using massive amounts of fuel.

Ah the Malaise Era. What a time, what a time.  :tounge:

I kind of want a Chevrolet Citation. They look sort of cool.

It's a genuinely nice place to be, and it's really nice to look at.

It totally isn't.  The base model is pretty cheap.  Nice materials here and there, but too many flashing lines and not nearly enough room inside.  It's a very small midsize.  I'll have a Cruze over a Malibu.

Yes, yes it is. Ahead of the Optima. And do you mean "flash lines?"

CJ

It is not ahead of the Optima.  The Optima interior is a much nicer place to be.

You know, the lines in plastic from the molding.

Optima doesn't use as many soft-touch plastics. It (and the Cruze) generally have worse fit and finish as well; Cruze probably has the most inconsistency of interior quality of all the Chevrolet models I've been in; and the materials aren't as nice (as it should be; Cruze is a cheaper car). Granted, the Malibu does have an issue with the rear seat, but the interior is still very nice.

CJ

The Optima may not be as soft touch, but it feels more quality.  It's also a GM product.  You can't expect it to last.  100,000 miles and it's worn out.

My 1992 Plymouth Voyager speedo only went to 110mph. Tach still climbed after that.

On the Autobahn.

Pretty pointless in the US.

After 100, you're either on a racetrack and it doesn't matter or you're driving stupidly on public roads and should slow down. I like having a little better resolution with my speedometer. The 160 mph speedo in the Z is a joke. The car would become airborne at speeds nearing 160.

I'm not sure how many other cars have this, but the Caddy and s2k have a "metric mode" where switching over makes the speedo read in km/h. The s2k was digital, but in the Caddy, it turned the 160-mph speedo into a 160-km/h speedo (~100 mph)

A friend of my dads has a US C5 convertible, same thing but I think that speedo went to at least 180.

The digital speedo in my dad's 1984 Lincoln Town Car could also be switched from MPH to KPH.  I didn't take that car up to max speed however, since the car's ultra-soft suspension made the damn thing feel almost uncontrollable.
