This is starting to look better. Now for a turbo charged Si.

Only a matter of time I predict  ;)

Lol... The MY12 is selling at a rate of 40% above the previous year's highly popular model despite lost production due to the earthquake and tsunami. So while you're dozing, they are selling but I think the 2013 model will bring fun and sophistication back into the equation with this forthcoming Civic sedan, coupe and Si duo. It looks amazing  :praise:

If marketed properly, the ignorant masses will buy anything.

A Very Personal Note

My added excitement about the 2013 Honda Accord and Civic is that I decided to give my 2010 Civic EX sedan to my nephew and replace it with one of Honda's new MY13 or '14 Sedans... probably the Civic Si or Si Sport or 2014 Accord Hybrid. Although little has been said about the Si Sport Edition, it will come with among yet to be revealed exclusive features, a larger rear deck spoiler.

I want to keep my mother's '10 Civic EX in the family (she has Alzheimer's Disease as many of you know) and drive a 2013 model as a second car to the Volvo XC60 T6. My father's stunning 2008 Accord EX is now my niece's car and my nephew needs a reliable vehicle for college. I lost my dad to death one year ago after a long valiant battle with bone cancer and the two grandchild will each have a Honda to remember the many long roadtrips they enjoyed in these vehicles with my parents.

My Alternative to a New 2013 Civic, Honda's 2014 Accord Hybrid or Costlier Accord Plug-in Hybrid

The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid Plug-in and its Price Revealed in LA, November 29, 2012

The plug-in cars are pretty expensive but I think the 2014 Honda Accord (as shown in LA today) offers a lot for the money and there is no telling yet if I would be entitled to a heavy government rebate. Do any of you 'Spin brothers know what constitutes a tax credit (a.k.a. rebate) such as one's income and would it apply to the Accord Plug-in Hybrid at its anticipated on sale date? I would like a high mileage, yet roomy secondary car.

Jalopnik had a pretty good post on it.  The Civic sells on it's reputation, and even if they didn't update it, it'd still sell well (it was too).  But that reputation would slowly degrade if they put out multiple generations that were a step or two behind the competition.  Overall, a simple but truthful post about where the Civic was in the market.  One of the first times I've actually agreed with Jalopnik.

Overall, the new one looks great.  I don't know why, but I really dig the multi-tier with a shit ton of screens look.

The rear of the exterior looks hot. The front looks acceptable. Interior looks high quality and well screwed together but quite "spartan." For the price of this thing, you'd think they could throw in a push-to-start. Sheesh.

Atomic

Canadian publications reported that there will a MY13 Si sedan and a Sports Edition of the Si four door (with a more pronounced reardeck lid -- winglike, as shown) but I cannot recall hearing about two versions of the Si sedan anywhere else. Perhaps it'll be an aftermarket package. Anyone else hear about the Sports version?

I don't get the whole push-button-start thing.  What's wrong with just turning a key?

Something so crude as turning a key is so uncouth.  A button is sophisticated.

It lets you keep your keys in your pocket.

Once you get a car with a smart key, it TOTALLY makes sense. It's the proper way to do things.

I don't know, man. Over the summer, we had an Altima rental with a smart key and I really did not like the thing. I didn't like the fact that the key was just floating around (I know there's a receptacle for it). I preferred my switchblade key.

Is a key just floating around at the times you're walking around not in the car? You don't need the fob out to unlock or start the car. You keep it safe in your pocket. You don't need to put it in a receptacle or anywhere else.

I have this habit of completely emptying my pockets when I drive. I put my phone in the cupholder and my wallet in my glovebox, I like having a place for the key to be too.

Oh weird. I only take my wallet out if I'm going to be driving for hours. Keys just stay in the pocket. Same with my cell phone unless I need to charge it.

I don't really care if a car has a key or a push-button when I start it. Only preference I have is a regular remote over the range-sensing auto-unlock stuff.
