Why do you hate the Prius?

Again... people buy used cars all the time, with similarly flimsy crash capabilities

No, they do not. A five year old car with a modern safety structure will not buckle as bad as a car with costs cut down to a price under 10K (and still have all the features you ask for).


It's a miracle something as refined as the modern US-spec subcompact can come in as as cheap as it does, with a modern safety cell, a modern engine and transmission, and refinement.

Personally I think we need smaller lighter cheaper cars.

Personally, I think people are all going to buy smaller, lighter, cheaper cars until the economy improves. Then they'll go out and buy the SUVs again, since that's what they really want deep down.

As far as the Prius, I don't "hate" them, but I tend to hate their drivers, if their bumper stickers are any representation. It's also an ugly looking thing.
