Also looks like you don't have an armrest?  I can see how that would be annoying.

But hey, NC MX-5s have twice as many cupholders as they do seats.  You should be able to find a place to put your soda!

(Man, I miss my Jetta.  I wish I could have kept both cars.  That would be an awesome two car garage.)

The "armrests" are that hard plastic console in the middle and a piece of thin rubber on the door.

I've been meaning to buy an armrest that takes the place of the cupholders but I keep forgetting.

Also the cupholders in the doors are useless because they angle inwards and I end up hitting them with my knee every time I shift.

And "fine" a place? Come on Raza, you're better than that.

True sports cars don't need cupholders. Most drinks won't stay in place for a 1 G corner anyway.

Z4 cupholders are awesome.  Can't handle anything too tall, but they ratchet closed, so they can be adjusted to hold small things, like Red Bull cans.  Not perfect, but a lot better than the Boxster's, which couldn't hold anything.  But, they're in the dash near the door, so if they're open and you don't notice, when you get out, you're going to smash your knee into one.

The vent isn't for the brakes, rather it's serves an aerodynamic function to vent the air build up around the wheels at speed.

The 2014 BMW M4 might look this good

Once BMW unveiled its all-new 4 Series coupe, we knew it wouldn't take long for digital renderings of the more powerful M4 version to hit the Internet. F30Post worked with digital artist Wild Speed to create some really great renderings of the upcoming M4, and also compiled a good amount of information based on sources and educated hunches.

While it doesn't take much to imagine what the M4 will look like based on the styling of current M cars and recent spy shots, these renders finally give us something to ogle at until the car finally arrives. New cues include the more aggressive front fascia, bulging hood, carbon roof and bigger wheels and brakes. Wild Speed was also kind enough to show images in a spectrum of shiny colors.

As for the car's details, the article expects the M4 to be lighter, faster and more efficient than the current M3 using a "multi-turbo" inline-six engine producing somewhere around 395 pound-feet of torque. The M3 sedan could go on sale by the middle of 2014, but the M4 coupe isn't expected to hit the scene for another couple years.

Are those cupholders ahead of the shifter?  I can't wait to punch my drink on every 2-3 shift.  Oh well, at least it has a stick and a real handbrake.

It's nice, but I don't think it's particularly great looking.  The old M3 just looked good.  This looks too busy.

TBR

The concept is a little gaudy, but I like the overall look and think it will be killer in production form.

For real though, not many people have enough money to buy this AND another car. These 4ers will be used as daily drivers, not weekend sports cars. This thing isn't a Lotus, it's a sports coupe that will be used by all kinds of people, from commuters who rack up tons of miles to people just driving around town running errands. It's a sporty, but general use, vehicle. You need cupholders in your daily driver, which is exactly how probably 95% of buyers will use these things.

Raza

LOL at the assertion that any NA motor would be more complex than any turbo motor.  The BMW V8 is simple enough that almost anyone can work on it with common household tools, such as a hammer, nails, WD-40, and a butter knife.  Would you try to service a turbo engine with a butter knife?  No.  Not even a cheese knife.
