Everybody knows I bought a 2000 Lexus ES300 Platinum yesterday.  Here are some pictures for those who I am not FB friends with.

I like the wheels.

So there it is.

A cassette deck?  First mod.

Looks good man.

Oh yeah...details.

2000 ES300 Platinum.  I have the 210 HP 1MZ-FE 3.0L V6.  The car has 125,000 miles on it, but it certainly doesn't feel that way.  The timing belt service has been completed and it has a brand new set of Bridgestone Turanza EL400 tires on it, with a brand new spare tire.  The previous owner thought it was time to replace the spare, so they did.  It has 16" wheels that are specific to the Platinum.  I like the wheels quite a lot.  The interior is pretty good, and the seats are extremely comfortable.  It does have a cassette deck, but I will not be adding an aftermarket head unit.  I like how this one works just fine, and the cassette adapted sounds perfectly fine.  I have the upgraded Nakamichi audio system.

What's platinum about it?

Looks clean, should be reliable. :ohyeah:

Looks clean.

+1

Great condition for a 13 yr old car with 125K miles on it.

Gorgeous! Love the subtle yet elegant tu-tone exterior treatment, special edition wheels that give the car a sporty European flare (even though a Lexus) and extremely clean genuine leather and generous real wood trimmed interior. Beautiful inside and out and very regal color choices, plus the exclusivity of the limited Platinum variant. Wow. Only one owner and an individual who obviously enjoyed and pampered this car...

Best wishes, CJ! Many safe and happy miles of driving.

Hmmm...

Well in any case, the car looks nice and clean.

Oh, that's not bad then. Before tax and such, that's around 6700, which is around what I paid for the Yaris.

I just thought you'd be the dumb guy who'd actually pay 10K for an old car.

And your 940 is likely worth wayy more than my Focus was, so that'll take the loan down a lot.

Good job!  :ohyeah:

Well, at least your sunroof is platinum! What a weird promotion.

I didn't trade the 940 in.  I still own it.  It's just sitting at the Lexus dealership with a broken fuel hose.

When you sell the 940, I mean.

Well, then, we're about in the same boat. Hopefully your gas tank won't rupture for no reason like mine did.

Very nice looking. Should of challenged you to a race for pinks while you still had the Volvo.

That interior is sweet! Nice car.

ES300, eh?  And what does your husband drive?

Just kidding.  Congrats, man.  Looks like whoever owned it took very good care of it.  Now do something about that stereo.  Cassette tapes died at the same time as Vanilla Ice's career.

Yeah, had I bought this car new, I probably would've told them they could keep the "free" AMEX card. Knowing myself, I'd forget about it and then on year three get a bill for $300 in the mail.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.
