Mopar had some gorgeous designs during the '70s.

And the 440 V8 of course, neutered it may have been.

Still must have been good for lots of low-down torque!

Depending on the iteration the smog 440 V8 was generally better than its smog big block counterparts. Also unlike its counterparts the smog 440 lived on longer in cars. By the mid-'70s most of the big blocks were pretty much gone in cars whereas the last year for the passenger car 440 was in the 1978 Plymouth Fury. It was rated at 220 hp (net) and 330 lb-ft (net):

That's actually a nice car. If I owned it, it would stay the same outside. But the 440 would definitely be massaged a bit.

Not bad for the late '70s.

It's great to meet another car enthusiast who appreciates some of the stunning designs from the '70s.

In the late 1970's my aunt in Pleasanton Ca drove a Pacer.  I drove it once in a while and it wasn't too bad.  I mean, shit it was seventies, short wheelbase, wide car...it handled better than an over-cushioned Olds Delta.  Anyway, secretly I  have always liked those little POS's.   She drove that car for almost ten years, until it died.  Funny thing was, it was used when they bought it.  So, it actually held up really well.

She now lives in Missouri. Yesterday, she announced on FB that she has finally bought another one.  This one is dark blue with a tan interior.  The previous one was tan, wood grain along the bottom, and had a computer-beige interior.

I'm thinking a Pacer would make quite a statement for a photography business.   Old fat hipster photographer, driving a Pacer, and singing Queen tunes along the back roads of the Carolinas.  I can get an 8-track and some tapes from Goodwill.

What could go wrong?

BTW, I see nothing wrong with tranny porn.

I so would want this as my "photography business car", but I'd need to tow a Saudi Oil Tanker with me at all times...

That is a Saudi oil tanker.

I love station wagons.  Always have.  My 2000 V70 has been with me since 2005....still only has 78,000 miles.   It has been dependable and I love the lines.  No camera needed for rear visibility.

One of my disappointments when I was 19 or 20 was a 1960 Dodge that was too far gone for a guy living in an apartment to restore.  I picked it up for $50.00 and drove it all of 40 miles, from where I picked it up to where I lived.  A few weeks later it was driven to a salvage yard.

My second wife owned a 1962 Buick Special wagon with a 215 Fireball.  We should have kept that car, but got rid of it anyway....for a Ford Escort.

As a kid, my family had a 1960 Rambler station wagon.  I'd love to have one now.

There are some nice cars you had in the family! '60 Rambler Station Wagon - looks a lot like the Checker taxis.

Didn't you also have a 1974 Ford LTD sedan? I'd love a wagon version, to!

Dad and mom both bought LTD's, years apart and for different reasons.  Mom bought hers to "celebrate" the divorce.  Dad to celebrate graduation from college.
