Nope, it does absolutely nothing at all.  The dealer guy even told me that.  I originally thought the gas door button does nothing but I guess that one unlocks the gas door though.  But the charger door button on the remote is simply because they're too cheap to replace the remote.

Keep in mind most of that 40 grand went to the drivetrain and the technology inside the car, not the passenger cabin.

Even at that price, I'm sure GM is losing a bucket full of cash on every one they build.

Maybe initially but I doubt they are right now unless you calculate the originally R$D cost into it.. It's still cheap though.. they could've done a lot better...
