I've been watching all the old shows where Edd did a little more bodywork then in the modern ones. It's painful watching someone try and do bodywork when it's obvious that being a mechanic is their first job. His welds and way of fitting things are difficult to watch and his filler spreading technique is painful. Nice guy but I wouldn't want him fixing my car unless it was the engine or something no body work related. And you can see pin holes in some of his work even without the show in HD. And don't get me started of the rattle can paint job he did on one car.

Obviously most of you people are confused, maybe it's the location(UK) but it's the same all over the world.

This guy, mike?, is a USED CAR DEALER. Of course he buys rotted worn out shit and slaps a few bandaids on them. The other guy, the painter/mechanic, is a typical used car hack. Sure he's slapping mud on and slapping paint over shotty bodywork. It may be staged, but these guys grew up in that industry, and obviously embrace it. Same exact thing happens here.

I know people like that. And I don't have too much of a problem with it. But they should never use the word "restore" when they talk about the job they do.

I feel like my dad is sitting on a gold mine.





It's quite possible that the problems with my dad's car would make a NCRS judge vomit with rage and then die of a heart attack. The entire fiberglass front end is fucked, the frame is rusted out, the original engine has been replaced by one from an Impala, the paint is not original, the rear wheel arches were cut, and the dashboard is blue (correct) while the rest of the interior is black (incorrect).

I still think it's worth $20,000.

Probably a lot more than $20k. All those things are relatively easy to fix - even a rusty frame.
