Bimmer, but that will be more expensive, right?

The CL looks better. And girls are all about looks and the color over anything else.

My wife would be pissed if I bought her car without her input.

She needs to get back in the kitchen.

But I'd probably try and get some input from a wife before I did it. Try to figure out what she liked.

I think women like the Benz better, but it's hard to know.

SVT666

The Bimmer's front fascia is ugly as fuck and women like pretty things.

2o6

The BMW just seems like a more expensive, nicer product.

MrH

Why so big?  If it's a second car for her, get something like a Z4 instead.  You'll be able to get a much newer vehicle.

I think they new ones look great too:

One thing to potentially keep in mind with the Benz- is it a COMAND car?  My buddy has an '07 SLK350, which is just old enough that it is back when they wanted to sell you phone systems along with the car, which means it's not Bluetooth-ed and has a bunch of useless buttons.

Onslaught

I don't know any female who doesn't like a Benz.

Soup DeVille

I'd choose the Bimmer, but I don't know your wife.

Will she be more appreciative of the the Ultimate Driving Machine, or of the cachet of the Mercedes nameplate?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

CLK550. Based on looks alone. I also think that more women would head towards the Benz. Given the two cars, I think I'd even take the 550 in this case.

For the gals, the Benz.  For a driver's car... meh.  Neither.  I mean, I imagine they're both solid, but this particular BMW makes me cringe.

bmw.  that mercedes, while beautiful, looks like an older model.  most people would not realize the bmw is that of an older model.  the mercedes, especially in that white color, looks like a girly car.  some women don't want to be in a girly car.  the bmw looks more unisex and masculine, without being butch.

if you can afford 2 - 4 thousand a year to keep them running, get the bimmer.

A dick in a box is much cheaper.

One of us was going to suggest this.

The CLK hands down.  It looks better and is simpler, it'll be much easier to learn to use.  It's also smaller, which will make it a lot easier to drive around town and what not.  For me, I'd take the 6 series, but a 645Ci 6 speed instead.  For your wife, I say CLK.

while all good advice the vehicle size isnt issue for her she bought a durango when she was still single and the 6 is based in the 5 platform which we already have.  But most everyone seems to agree with you on style.  I havent ever drove a clk550 does anyone know anything about it handling and ride wise?  And does the engine live up to it's power rating the way BMW v8's do?  Didn't you used to own a benz?  Clearly the MB is the choice here but have to wonder about how it stacks up behind the wheel.   Hope the snow melts soon so i can drive one.

I also think the Benz probably appeals to females more than the BMW.  Why?  I dunno, I can't really put my finger on it.

The Bimmer's pretty fugly anyways; and certainly isn't "pretty" like a female might prefer.
