Next CTS to receive 420-hp turbo V6

Yeah..from some angles the uppers appear to be dark brown, in others they appear black. The latter is definitely preferable.

Regardless, this thing looks sweet. 5-series sized I take it?

Upper looks black, with black suede accents.  Brown door inserts and seats?  Maybe too many colors, but I don't think it looks bad.

It does look pretty damn good.  Looks closer in size to the last STS than the last CTS, which makes sense.

My informed source told me last week that the back was controversial...... I think he should have said the front. Form what I've seen, the back looks quite normal, but the front will take some getting used to.

I've probably seen enough to count on my fingers, but they're cool. I'd love a CTS-V wagon. In fact, out of all the available CTS-V body styles, I would take the wagon.

I like the wagon a lot, especially for the surprise factor of it being a wagon.  Though for fast wagons, Audi is usually what gets in my head.

The CTS coupe is awesome looking, though I'd never want to have to parallel park it in a tight space.  Doesn't look like you can see shit out of it.

Too bad Mercury isn't around anymore.  Just imagine what they could have done to this with modern LED technology!

I think the current CTS is one of the best looking cars around and it still looks good at the end of its cycle.  My expecations about the third gen were tempered by the early spy shots, especially of the rear.  But this thing looks amazing.  Perhaps a few too many lines on the hood, and the rear is not quite as distinctive as the current car's (but I think this is something we'll need to see on the road).  The LEDs might be a bit much.  The interior, like the ATS's, looks great, and should be a huge improvement over the current car's (which is nowhere as good as the exterior).

It certainly compares well to most of the current competition - the E-Class continues to look like a mess, and I've come to prefer the E60 5 Series over the F10, and the GS is no great looker.  I agree that I actually see some resemblance to the E-Class, but it's like an E Class done right.

I've never driven a CTS or ATS, but if I was in the market for this kind of car, I'd have to give it a try.  After having current 3 and 5 Series as loaner cars in the last year (the 3 just this past weekend), I continue to think BMWs have truly become watered down in the effort to broaden their appeal.  And long term, I think this is harmful, as there will soon be little left to distinguish itself from other brands, which will only help cars like the CTS.  Cadillac may still have an uphill battle with its perceived image, but at least the product is clearly competitive.
