Then you'll end up with $60k Tahoes. Not gonna be many takers I don't think.

Yes, one that's loaded.

We don't have any base Tahoes at the dealer I work at. All of them are LT(2) and up.

Yes, one that's loaded.

For the platform stablemate pickups the Duramax upgrade is $7,195 and the mandatory Allison upgrade $1,200, which would definitely bring the average cost of a Tahoe up to ~$60,000.

Mustangfan2003

I'd imagine that a 4.5 liter engine wouldn't be $7k and the loaded Tahoe is already $57k.  I figure this new one will be bumped to $60 anyway.

About what I'd expect, to be honest. I was a big fan of the Yukon XL I drove, I have every reason to believe this generation will be even better.

Nobody pays MSRP for new cars; and that's doubly true for GM trucks. Still, that's a lot of coin for a gussied up pickup truck.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Hmmm. I'm not so sure. The 4.5L Duramax sounds more expensive to manufacture than the 6.6L Duramax courtesy of aluminum DOHC vs. cast iron P O O P R O D heads.

Is pooprod still the poop word?

...Yep.

This one is pretty amusing after seeing it mobile and then online... gives you the full effect of what you're saying, lol.

Yeah, that interior is nice.  Based on the quality of materials I see in the pickups, this is easily the best-looking truck GM has ever assembled.

The rear overhang is just obnoxious

Have you ever seen a Suburban?  They've always had a huge rear overhang.

  Thanks guys.  I actually worked on this one a bit at my last job.  Kind of cool to finally seeing the stuff I was involved in hitting the market.  But it's totally not my fault if it turns out to suck in person  :evildude:

Yeah, it would be pretty sweet to point to something and tell the guys at the shop that a friend designed it...

I worked in new business pursuit and process improvement stuff.  So I had my hands in bits of all of it.  We made the instrument panel and center console.  So basically just about everything you see in that straight forward shot of the interior but the steering wheel, doors, and seats.

The center console piece, that flows upwards around the HVAC controls.  I fought about the seat heaters in that thing for quite awhile   Also, that piece is a BEAST to make.  A very, very difficult part.

Ah, nice.

I wonder how much of a bitch that center console will be to remove...

Worked on it more likely; its hard for any one person to claim the design of anything anymore. Its hard to explain to somebody outside the industry how many hands get involved in even the simplest pieces.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I really do not understand this moden penchant for short overhangs at whatever the cost. It especially doesn't make much sense when applying that to trucks. This already has a what- 125" wheelbase? Sure, let's push that rear axle out to the rear a little further. Now let's see you park this SOB in a standard spot.

Saw one on the road the other day. Definitely did a double-take.

Yeah, but you gotta remember that people aren't exactly "buying" them. A lot of it is easy credit.

Otherwise, I think it's pretty good.

nice
I still hate the extra lower lip on the headlights. I think the Yukon is the better looking of the two this time around. The Escalade is very interesting but I haven't totally decided how I feel about the look yet.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.
