two things come to mind:

- an extra 15 thousand for a pretty radical design departure seems like a very good deal.

- the regular corvette i always thought had quite a bit of trunk space.  this doesn't increase passenger space, so it has limited usefulness.  cross-country cruising vacation trips with a friend/lover would be pretty cool in this car but can also be done with a regular corvette i thought.

I think it looks pretty sick and I'm not a fan of this generation Corvette's looks.

Is it possible to do this with open top Corvettes?

Do those gold chains really take up enough room to require the additional luggage space?

It doesn't look...horrible.  But it doesn't look better than a normal 'Vette.  And, I just don't see the point.

Reminds me of those square back hatch kits you used to be able to buy for Firebirds.

In other words; ewww.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Looks like ass.

Reminds me of this.

Which also looks like ass.

Vinsanity

Count me in the "love it" camp. The standard C7 looks great, but this is a breath of fresh air.

But that is an awesome car, that looks that way for a reason.

Ugly as shit, and the incremental cargo volume looks pretty marginal.

Stupid idea.

It was actually on the original Motorama car in '52.

It will be a hit in Europe!

Just needs a 1.1-l turbodiesel engine and we're all set!

Wonder why they ditched it. We need more shooting brakes. I wish my car were a shooting brake.

All C7s are open top. It doesn't look like it'll hold much more than a regular C7...

It was really an iffy proposition to get it made at all; American automakers just didn't do sports cars at that time. That they introduced the Vette with a two speed automatic goes to show they didn't undstand them either. The nomad Vette kind of helped with the practicality aspect of them. Looks cool still. I just don't like this modern one. Maybe because I like the coupe?

The one that really should have been made was the hardtop fastback shown as well.

Wow, very cool. So the original Corvette was just kind of an add on.

I think the hardtop version would have been awesome as well. I never liked the C1, because it seems soft and at odds with the rest of the Corvettes. That hardtop looks like an American 300 SL gullwing which is not a bad thing.
