Not at all. The torque this thing makes is insane. The engine is very refined. The Honda engine is great, but the now indicated 42.8 MPG is well worth the trade off. They're are very few diesel sounds in the car, and it sounds awesome outside. There is no odor. The Lexus smells worse.

My dad filled it up yesterday and the calculated MPG was 38.2. This is 15 more than the Honda was doing in the same commute.
