You need to get some of those Wagon Queen crown badges. I bet a Rolex badge would work, too.

Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

It'll rev over 3200, it just won't make any power past 3200.

Around town, it moves just fine. It's not struggling to keep up with traffic the way the Grand Pricks does. That 270 lbs of torque makes its presence known. Of course, on the highway it starts to show as a lack of passing power, and it's not going to win any races, but stepping off from a red light it pulls away easily and smoothly.

It's a lot like the 472 Cadillacs in that way, except the Caddies always had some extra legs on the highway.

Crate engine.

Hey; my engine is your engine, mister. If its good enough for your Mustang, it's good enough for my family car.

( but honestly its going to be very hard not to tinker with it a little)

The Car (which is now its official name) gets a surprising amount of attention on the road. I really thought it would be met with a mix of revulsion and mockery, but twice now people have come up to me at the gas station (the fuel gauge doesn't work, so I top it off every day) and asked about it. Little kids point, and lots of people do double takes. That doesn't mean they're not mocking it I suppose, but still, its been a pleasant surprise so far.

After I get the brakes done on Monday, I'm enlisting the help of a friend to do a youtube video.

I don't know that they like it, as much as they like seeing somebody stupid enough to actually drive one around.

Its the last year of the Ford full size wagons. Also happens to be the only year that had the MAF-based multiport EFI for the 302. And the only one with an airbag.

You know, 150 hp at 3200 rpm isn't bad. I wonder what my 330 makes at 3200 rpm.

The intake and exhaust ports must be like pea shooters to stop making power there.

Eye of the Tiger

I wonder if, with a turbo blowing 1 bar of air into that thing, it could make 300 HP @ 3200 RPM. Of course, in order for that to happen, it would have to be making 492 lb-ft at that speed. Things would break.

Considering it is virtually indistinguishable from a station wagon from 1979, I really don't think the model year comes into play here.
