They couldn't fit the clutch pack in with the longer V12.  It's about space.

Clutch pack?

There's the whole front diff + half shafts.  I can't imagine that's feasible with the giant V12 in there.

Considering the premium they charge over the S65 one could have expected something like sapping power from the front of the engine, running a shaft through the oil pane or something. Other companies solve problems like this.
