Coworker is putting us in touch with his favorite BMW salesdude. Apparently we could time a BMW lease to be basically cost-neutral with the TSX because BMW is constantly playing with incentive switches and levers. An X1 or 3-series wagon could be nice.

Sounds too good to be true.

He leased his 335, zero down, for only twenty bucks more per month than what we paid for the TSX.

Kind of intriguing?

the bmw lease, if it sounds too good to be true, needs to be scrutinized.  Is it a 10,000 annual mileage limit?  It might be and that's pretty restrictive.

BF is back to thinking that keeping the TSX would be more reasonable, and the $ savings could be put toward membership in a sailboat rental club.

He's never owned a car for more than 5 years since he moved to the States. This is unusual for him!

Easily corrected with X1 35i test drive.

Or new BF.

I see tons of X1s around here. Not a fan. And likely a lot less practical than the TSX.

X1s are so small and so low that the roofline and ground clearance is pretty much on par with most sedans.  How is this considered a CUV?

The MT review of the Golf TDI was not encouraging. The TDI sounds like it's been lobotomized to further improve fuel economy. The rest of the car sounds great, but the diesel engine was the compelling aspect of the VW.

The Outback, having bloated even more, isn't very appealing either. My boyfriend drives to and works in downtown Seattle, so parking ability is an important feature.

We'll try both the cars in person, but keeping the TSX is becoming more and more appealing. There aren't any cars that perform well above and beyond what it does at a price point we're willing to pay. (We'd love a BMW hatch of some sort, but ow, the wallet.)

What about an Acura ZDX? That's what my gay DINK neighbors drive.

I don't think I've ever seen a ZDX out in the wild.  And, for that, I consider myself lucky!

Working at the BMW dealer, I've noticed in a short few days

The X5 is like driving a house.

The X3 is nice, but it might be too big for you

I really like the X1.

I'm not super keen on the new 3-series. I feel like interior quality and steering feel in the latest crop of BMW's have taken a back seat. It doesn't feel as nice or as well put together.

AutobahnSHO

Saw a TSX today. Can't remember seeing one before-

handsome car, liked it from way back in traffic, along with a Jetta sport wagon in my favorite red with some tastesful dark rims.

I'd take one (of either)

I know its not a wagon, but have you considered the new TLX?  First drive reviews have been really positive and the I4 looks to be a pretty good deal what with what you get.

Laconian

Hatches are a must.

We're thinking of sticking with the TSX. My boyfriend usually gets a new-car itch every four years or so, but wow, he's actually thinking the TSX is a long-term keeper.
