Hmm, yeah. According to the story it's probably based on the Panda 4x4. This has potential.

Naw man, there's a market for small 4x4s. I'd love a Panda 4x4 or Skoda Yeti, but this little Jeep is growing on me.

2o6

It's 500L based

I think it's a great idea, but this one just so happens to look like shit.

I think that thing would look funny/cool with a mild lift and meaty tires.  Wish I had some photoshop

Yeah man. That thing would be awesome with a few inches of lift and some thick tires. Remove sway bars and throw on a couple skid plates...boom. Nice little woods runaround.

Mustangfan2003

It would be cool to see Jeep build something that was affordable and good off road since the Wrangler is now pretty pricey.

It tarnishes the Renegade name a bit since that was a trim line on the real Jeeps.  Maybe they should call this the Panda.

ifcar

Sure is ugly! I guess it will take time to figure out whether that's ugly in a good way or a bad way.

With the Cherokee name returned, this should be the new Liberty.  Scout might also work, if the name is available.  This really ruins the name Renegade.

I would assume that Navistar still owns the rights to the Scout name for vehicles.

Lamenting the fall of Jeep as a "real" enthusiast brand is about as pointless and silly as complaining about Porsche's stupid cars.

It's ugly

Rupert

That's a different complaint than "it's not a 'real' Jeep".

Rear is horrible, profile isn't terrible

I think this car would look better with a slightly taller beltline and slightly lower roof.

I also find it annoying being able to see out of vehicles.
