Did you take pictures of them?

Two female cops pulled over a driver in front of my house today.  They were not hot.  But they were wearing vests.  I saw some other cops pulling someone over a few minutes later and they weren't wearing vests.  I guess it's a personal choice?

No.  I think she was kinda hitting on me though.

Then right before she let me go she asked "Do you have a female housemate?"

"It's my girlfriend's parent's house"

"Was your girlfriend wearing a cute black and white tank top?"

"Yes she was (confused face)"

"My partner just pulled her over a few minutes ago"

I was like fuuuu because her license was suspended.  Didn't say that though.

Not usually. Most departments have a policy that you have to wear it if it's issued to you.

How do you know if they were wearing vests or not? Did you frisk them? It's not always obvious, depending on the officer's build and the cut of the uniform.

Nice work.   Did she give you a blow job while you were pulled over?
A good friend will come bail you out of jail...BUT, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, DAMN...that was fun!

Nothing but issues with these cars. Two engine replacements, two wiper motors and a shifter replacements and a third starting to burn oil.

We won't be buying anymore sedans at this point. Most likely just Explorers or Tahoes.  I am done dealing with the packaging issues with these sedans as well. Having a two man car is near impossible if just very uncomfortable.

Bring back the Ford Crown Victoria.

Looks better on TV shows as well.  :praise:

Would the Interceptor be better?  I remember you saying that they suck too.  They're what my local PD bought.

The State Police here have some Chargers.  I wonder how they're working out.

The female officers were wearing them over their shirts. But I suppose you're right, they could have been wearing them under.

The Interceptor were more reliable but they weren't a better car per se.

Curiously, a 2WD Tahoe is around the same price as a Caprice.

My department is a mix of external and internal (concealed) vest carriers. It's officer choice. I won't go back to an internal carrier unless forced to...the external is so much more comfortable.

The CVPI's are outdated platforms. Ford simply didn't keep up with the times with them.

I just got a 2014 Charger. I really like it so far. Comfortable ride, very quick and agile, great turning radius. My only complaint so far is trunk space. I know a few of the guys complain about them in snow/ice conditions.

I guess you'll find out how they do in the snow/ice this winter.  That is a badass set of wheels.  Enjoy it, man.

I see more Chargers stuck in the snow than anything else.

I can't imagine that they're dramatically worse than the CVPI in the snow and ice. They're both full-sized RWD sedans...they behave a certain way in those kinds of conditions. The only two differences I can think of are tires and ground clearance (the Chargers definitely have less ground clearance than the CVPI's did).

And then the only advantage that the Tahoe has is ground clearance...

Is the Explorer AWD or FWD?

Eh, Tahoe also comes in 4WD, giving it a legitimate advantage. There's also the issue of the massive interior storage space.

The Explorers are AWD. They do moderately well in snow and ice (better than RWD), but they're not true 4WD. I was going places in our 4WD Expedition last winter that the guy driving our Explorer would have gotten stuck.

I assume the CVPIs had limited slips, do the Chargers?

There's a computerized traction control system in the Chargers. I couldn't tell you the technical details of the system.

TCS just applies the brake on whatever wheel is spinning to transfer power to the wheel that isn't, as well as cutting power via the electronic throttle.  It's better than nothing, but not especially effective in ultra slick conditions.  A lot of owners manuals say to shut the system off in some conditions, like ice, because it ultimately works against you.  A true limited slip will give you better forward drive.

And the breakaway torque will be way too high for slippery conditions, converting your limited slip into a welded diff.

Which is something of a downside of a limited slip, as it makes for some twitchy handling in the slick.

There's no such thing as particularly comfortable with it comes to bullet-resistant vests. Under the shirt (concealed) vests are generally a bit hotter, as they don't permit quite the same air flow as exterior carriers. Some departments, however, don't like the look of external carriers. There are also various arguments regarding tactical safety.
