I personally don't see the point in driving without ESP on the street. Saved my ass so many times, especially when it's wet out.

+1. I use "intermediate mode" a lot on the street but DSC fully off only at track/autocross.

Only times I've ever turned off DSC were in the snow to do donuts.

I don't know what I would do on an autocross - depends on the car. My dad autocrossed a rental Challenger one time and ended up leaving traction control on to get a faster lap. Lots of new Mustangs seem to get a little too tail happy with ESC off and lose a couple of tenths. Just depends on how much it interferes.

Is there any point in having a RWD car if you leave stability control on?

Sure.... compared to FWD/AWD you get better chassis balance and steering feel. Compared to FWD alone you get much better accelerative traction, be it off the line or out of turns. Compared to AWD alone you get less weight on the nose. What are you gaining by turning stability control off on the street  I'm ashamed to say it but I have got my car to its limits on the street with stability control on. On my car at least it only really cuts in when I'm being really silly.... there is plenty of room to play below its threshold. Plus tires, repairs, medical bills etc are expensive.

You guys are no fun.
Because we don't subscribe to your tastes & beliefs  Is your car no fun w/o stability control turned on

I don't think a BRZ can even activate stability control.

Goosing it and letting the tail hang out a bit is good fun and always has me grinning like an idiot.
