Someone shopped this, it appears. Imagine if there had been a Ford Crown Victoria Station Wagon. Why are my balls tingling?

Looks decent to me. But I do get it. When a 4-cylinder Camry has "the same" performance statistics, then this car would be really slow.

By the standards of ~10 years ago, it was a bit quicker than the average 4-cylinder midsizer (the fastest of them were roughly even with it), and even some V6 midsizers.  It wasn't really any faster than the other full-sizers out here like the Olds Aurora or Pontiac Bonneville and was well slower than the last "full-size hot rod": the mid-90s Impala SS.

Yes! I have a friend with a 96 Impala SS and it was quicker with LESS Horse power! 275hp IIRC....

LOL. the only curvy part is the front fascia, which can be installed on any year of these from 1979-91, Ford or Mercury.

In terms of boxiness, I'd say the early Volvo 740 wagon gave Ford/Mercury a run for their money.

Boxier in some ways, less in others, about the same all in. Like I said, you just can't have a car that's boxier.

Those '70s Mercury and Ford wagons are just gorgeous. I don't understand why more people don't get weak knees at the sight of such a design masterpiece.

For a 300hp muscle car thats slow........ In fact its only .02 faster than a 2000 Silverado pick up truck to 60!
