GTI is probably one of the best compromises you can buy today. In the bargain, it's a bit softer than I'd like it to be

Did you seriously scrap your Mazda 3?

Donated it to charity.  I got the letter the other day that they sold it for $650.  Assuming the clutch still worked, I might have gotten $1000 for it.  The car needed hundreds of dollars in repairs (exhaust was being held on by safety wire, A/C compressor had rusted to the point that it didn't function anymore, plus whatever was needed to fix the clutch) just to get everything "working", and then you have to factor in how extensive the rust damage to the body was.  One rear fender perforated, the other very close.  Both were missing a considerable amount of paint that had blistered and flaked off.  Bottoms of the rear doors were rotted through (not visible unless you opened the doors).  Some perforation in the sheet metal around the 3rd brake light.  Underside of the car was a horror show of iron oxide.  Wouldn't surprise me if there was a hole in the floor pan somewhere.

10 years in New England salt is enough time to destroy a car. I scrapped my first car, an Escort, at about 12 years old. The frame was rusted enough that I couldn't jack it up to put on/take off snow tires. It wouldn't pass state inspection.

d00d nice buy!

But that's a "base model" with the hood scoop??  Seems odd.

I've toyed with the idea of lowering or outbacking mine, I'd trade you suspension but mine is probably original and SUX...

Only first year Outbacks were without the hood scoop.

I'll pass on the suspension swap right now lol.  When I get new stuff I'm keeping the stock parts.  I may be putting a rear LSD in shortly and swapping on a 2.2L intake and deleting my resonator for a tad more thrum.

They never sold a turbo with that body-style/generation (at least not in the US).  My guess is they saved money by having only one hood for all Legacies.

New seats.

The rears are sedan seats so they won't fit, but I'm picking them up next week and I'll be making house furniture out of them haha.

... Nissan needs to use these shocks on the GT-R.  It would be like the Incredible Hulk wielding Thor's hammer.... unstoppable.

It'll happen.  I'm wasting too much money on things I don't really need right now so I can't afford to.
