I am disappointed the Prius only lasted 1 Second.

That was the dumbest shit in the world. The 1NZFXE is a leaner burning version of the 1NZFE. It wouldn't take a rocket-scientist to know it would have blown up. The bottom end of that motor is the same as the one in the Yaris/Echo/xB/xA and there are definitely plenty of turbo and NOS versions of those cars out there.

Optima has no boost... hopefully the wastegate just needs an adjustment

Absolutely no boost?  I wouldn't drive a turbo car without a turbo.  It's not designed to run without boost.

Not getting it fixed?

Not likely to do too much harm, but I can only imagine how gutless, and relative inefficient, it must be.

I don't know any ECU that doesn't adjust to run sans turbo.

However, I would make sure it's not a stuck closed wastegate.

You have a code reader? Any CEL?

Yeah, they pretty much are. Now, the transmission may act a bit confused, but the engine management knows what to do.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I'm pretty sure boost in those cars come pretty early.

I know my Sonic starts generating boost at like 1800RPM.

My car is basically always in boost as soon as any throttle is applied at all above roughly 2k rpm.

His car is likely similar.

You'll get some, but not full boost.

Yea, given the difference it definitely runs in boost most of the time. Data logs confirm

Code came up for something wastegate related which is a common issue. Actuator operates through a rod which is adjustable and comes out of calibration. Why they couldn't just make it all one piece... only God knows. I'll try and recalibrate it tonight. Hopefully I can see the voltage on the OBD2 scanner

Is it integrated? This happened twice on my Sonic, the first time the turbo got replaced. The second time, the arm popped off the lever, and just needed a replacement retainer clip.
