Yo, my dudes with newer Subarus. I picked up a 2019 Legacy for detailing this morning. Snowy day, roads are covered, but not terrible by any means both condition and visibility-wise.

There was one section where I had the cruise set at 45mph (on a 45mph road) and it suddenly turned it off for no reason. A message on the dashboard screen had the words Eye Sight with a big slash through them, and the "lane departure warning off" and what I assume is "front collision sensing off" lights lit up as well....and it wouldn't let me set the cruise again until like a mile later when I guess it decided it had its Eye Sight back.

Wtf gives?  It really won't let you use cruise control if its precious sensors get covered by a little snow?

It won't let you do active cruise control with the cameras blocked.  You can turn off Eyesight and just use regular cruise control.

The cameras weren't blocked, though. Unless a little bit of blowing snow is enough to confuse its radar, I guess.

But that makes sense...I didn't dig into it to see what Eye Sight was or if it could be turned off. But I feel like an easy fix would be.......a) Eyesight gets obstructed, cruise gets turned off, b) driver notices and re-engages CC manually knowing that Eyesight isn't active bcuz the lights and message on screen, c) once Eyesight is able to re-engage, the car either pauses CC again to let you know or beeps a message at you that you're good.

On closer inspection while washing...it appears that the only sensors on the front are the two dashcam lookin' units mounted up by the rearview mirror on the inside of the windshield.  And both of their vision is kept clear by the windshield wipers (thank god they didn't mess that up).  So I dunno if the blowing snow was messing with it or what. But goddamn.

I think Subie's system is largely camera-based.  I had an Outback rental and got caught in a torrential downpour (driving around town, so I wasn't using any of the cruise features) and I got a big "EyeSight Disabled" warning in the dash because the visibility was poor.

I don't use cruise on snow/ice in a 2wd vehicle, but an awd Subie can do it no prob on smooth hardpack.

Very interesting. I had no idea that Skoda sold some cars in the US in the 1960s!

Pretty impressive...Koenigsegg Gemera...The Koenigsegg Gemera Is a 1700-HP Hybrid With a Camless Three-Cylinder

The Gemera has a 2.0-liter twin-turbo three-cylinder with 600 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. And it doesn't have camshafts. Yes, this tiny triple uses Koengisegg's remarkable Freevalve technology. This is also a FlexFuel engine designed to run on renewable alcohol. It combines with a hybrid system for an astonishing 1700 horsepower and 2581 lb-ft of torque. Koenigsegg claims it'll hit 62 mph in 1.9 seconds, which is bonkers.

I like it but I'd rather have a big duckbill spoiler than the wing. That'd be even better.

It gets 40 rods to the hogshead although fuel economy drops when the temperature is below 492 degrees Rankine.

Okay, but what is the fuel economy?

It has 2.0 I3 engine in the middle with 600 HP powering the front wheels, and 3 electric motors, 2 of which power each of the rear wheels. Draw your own conclusions
