Not if she was waiting for you to back out, and then suddenly changed her mind. People do this all the time.

169 km trip, 20% Autobahn, 80% state roads and a lot of traffic. Average speed 56 km/h (due to heavy creeping traffic on the state roads), used the Start-Stop function and consumed only 6.2 liters / 100 km (37.94 mpg).

I drove very economically and managed to increase my range by 47.6 km (29.6 miles). Fuel tank was 3/4 full and if I had continued to drive I would have more or less have had a range of 516 km (321 miles).

AND... since it was so blazing hot yesterday, I had my A/C switched on the entire time - at a high setting. Impressive fuel economy. If I had driven an electric car the A/C power usage would have most likely forced me to stop and charge somewhere!  :tounge:

IMO they've fallen a ways below GM in terms of desirability. Their cars are depressing rental fodder.

Nissan's cars, other than the GT-R, have been unappealing for years now.  I can't even remember the last Maxima that was decent, I don't even get Altimas as Ubers anymore, do they even still make the Sentra?  And the 370Z is a dinosaur that's cheap, but in a segment where people aren't buying anymore.

Nissan's lineup for the European (or more specifically the German) market. Notice the lack of a mainstream sedan/wagon to compete with the Volkswagen Passat for example.

They buy them to that they can tell their friends that they have a Qashqai.  Their friends will likely ask "Is that something like a turnip?"

I don't think I saw one mainstream D segment sedan on my trips to Europe.

Plus as you've shown Europeans aren't ready to admit something like a Camry Hybrid is simply a better car than a Passat 1.2 TDI. So why go through the hassle of importing them?

So I was driving along one of the busier expressways through the heart of the city the other day, a lot of stop and go varying from about 90 kph down to sudden stops approaching the various exits and entrances to the expressway.  At one point, as the traffic was sailing along, there was a sudden flash of a bunch of brake lights ahead and, as I was following at a fairly safe distant, I was able to come to a safe but abrupt halt.  Glancing in the mirror, I saw this late model large Mercedes SUV barreling along behind me then, at the last moment, there was a loud squawk as it came juddering to a halt a couple of feet from my car.  The driver, a young woman in her early 20s it seemed, was casually glancing down at something, I presumed it was her phone, looking completely unconcerned.  A moment later, she jogged into the next lane that was still moving and, still casually glancing down at something, she went motoring past.  I'm assuming that her car noticed I had stopped and slammed on the brakes.

Driver aides, while a good safety feature, may give a false sense of security to some drivers.  This girl was definitely not paying attention to the traffic.

It's that double edged sword.  Driving is dangerous, so we make it safer, and then people no longer appreciate how dangerous it is.

My friend seemingly routinely drives drunk now when he didn't before.  Why?  Tesla Autopilot.  He believes fully it'll get him home safely and without a DUI.  So far it's worked out fine.  So far.

I don't like this in between zone we're in. I personally can't wait for truly autonomous cars to arrive. The general public doesn't just not care about driving- they actively hate it. The standard method of holding a steering wheel down here is as follows:

Drivers can't even bring themselves to touch the steering wheel. So I say fuck it- give the public what it wants. Hell, I wouldn't even be mad if it meant the end of driving on most public roads.
